Black, White, Asian: Objects
These objects are inspired by the functions of the skin, and are printed with the skin pigment cells.
The scarf reflects the skin's decorative and communicative function, and its size is equivalent to that of an average human skin. (on sale in Camberwell, wink wink)
The gloves are inspired by the protective and waterproof functions of skin.
Black, White, Asian
From above, these are drawings of White, Asian and Black people's skin pigment cells. Pencil on paper, 86 x 74 cm.
booklets
Booklets accompanying my Skin project. The black book contains of photographs of my drawings and animation, projected onto people. The white book is a collection of poems related to race and skin, typeset in a way which would include my interpretation of their reading.
